Here is a good story analysis of the truth behind The Hunger Games (THG). I have not seen the movie or read the book, but as I've said all along in my Moral Premise writings, any project that connects with audiences well (and THG may be ready to set an all time record for connecting with the masses) there is truth at its core. Fr. Barron suggests what that truth is, as well as providing a good and concise analysis of the human condition throughout history and the story antecedents for THG. This also reminds me of Polti's "The 36 Dramatic Situations" -- it's hard to come up with something truly unique.
